The International Expert Council is envisioned as a future professional body bringing together recognized experts from different regions and fields of the vending, unattended retail and self-service industries.
Its purpose is to provide independent international professional expertise on complex industry questions where experience beyond a single national market may be valuable.
National markets operate under different regulatory, technical and institutional conditions. Some complex questions therefore require a professional perspective that goes beyond one national market.
The Council is intended to provide an independent international reference point for complex professional questions.
When formally requested, the future Council may prepare independent international advisory opinions on complex issues affecting the vending, unattended retail and self-service industries.
The future Council should seek balanced geographical and professional representation, bringing together recognized expertise from different parts of the global industry based on experience, professional knowledge, international perspective, and industry recognition.
Important Distinction: The Council is not intended to replace national authorities, courts, regulators or existing professional organizations. Its role is to provide independent international professional expertise, not to impose decisions on national markets.
The International Expert Council is a proposed future element of the Initiative. Its final structure, composition, nomination procedures, and operating procedures have not yet been established and will be developed collectively at the appropriate stage of the Initiative.
