Participation Policy
International Discussion Initiative · Working policy for the current consultation phase
The International Discussion Initiative is an open professional consultation platform for discussion among participating national and regional associations and their authorized representatives. The initiative is intended to support structured dialogue, exchange of experience, and development of wording and naming proposals.
1. Access and activation
- Visitors may read the initiative materials and public discussion content.
- Participation functions that create records on behalf of a participant require successful activation with a valid invitation code.
- Activation establishes the participant session used to associate comments, proposals, and other participation records with the authorized participant.
2. Discussion and comments
- Comments belong to the Clause being viewed and are intended for professional observations, questions, objections, clarifications, and wording suggestions.
- A participant may contribute more than one comment where additional clarification or discussion is useful.
- Comments remain part of the discussion record and are not removed merely because a participant later changes their position on a Clause.
- The discussion interface does not require participants to vote on individual comments.
3. Clause position
- A participant may record a current position of Support or Do not support for a Clause.
- Only one current position per participant and Clause is counted. Changing the position replaces the participant's previous current position; prior comments remain visible as discussion history.
- A Do not support position is accompanied by an explanation that is stored as an ordinary comment on the same Clause.
4. Platform name proposals
- Each active participant may submit one alternative platform-name proposal.
- Different participants and associations may submit different proposals; all valid proposals remain available for consideration.
- Participants may support up to two naming options across the naming workspace.
- Support is recorded per participant and per naming option and does not depend on the number of comments made by the participant.
5. Neutrality and professional conduct
- The initiative is designed as a neutral professional discussion environment and does not replace or represent any national or regional association.
- Participants should keep contributions relevant to the initiative, professional, and suitable for publication to other participating representatives.
6. Records and participation data
Participation records are associated with the participant account created or activated through the platform. The platform may retain participation history needed to preserve the integrity of the consultation record.
7. Policy status
This page describes the platform's current consultation workflow. Operational details may be refined as the initiative develops. Any future substantive change to participation rules should be reflected in an updated version of this policy.
